FAQs

  • The new version of Popplet for web browsers uses HTML5 – the latest, greatest modern web standard – instead of Flash. This means Popplet now works online without plug-ins, in more browsers and on more devices, including Chromebooks.

The new Popplet also offers Google Single Sign-On, for your convenience and to better support Google Classroom.

It keeps all of what made old Popplet great, and adds two great improvements: you can now drag and drop to add images, and it’s super easy to embed YouTube videos.

Wherever you create popplets in the new web version, they will be saved in your account with HTML5 and will be accessible across browsers and devices.

Users of Popplet’s online version don’t need to do anything besides log in to use new Popplet on the web. All your popplets are waiting for you, ready to go.

  • Popplets built in the old Flash version will be available at legacy.popplet.com until December 31, 2020, when Adobe stops supporting Flash.

  • The new Popplet works on web browsers on desktops, laptops, Chromebooks, and Android and iOS tablets.

  • Nope! Version 2.5.1 is the current app version for iOS devices and is available here.

  • All of your popplets are still safely in your account.

They have been upgraded to work in HTML5, so you can now use Popplet on more browsers and on more devices.

Popplets built in the old Flash version will be available until December 31, 2020, when Adobe stops supporting Flash.

Starting January 1, 2021, popplets will be exclusively HTML5. There is nothing you need to do for this changeover.

  • If you’re missing a feature from Flash as we launch new Popplet, in the weeks following launch we will update Popplet to include all the best features you know and love.

Until then, you can access the classic Flash version of Popplet available here. Don’t forget to let us know what you’re missing so we can make sure your favorite features make it into the next version!

  • If a popplet looks funky when accessed through the new Popplet, click the “Need old Popplet?” button on the log in window to access your popplet in the Flash version. This option will be available until December 31, 2020.

If a popplet seems to have gone missing, please contact support.

  • Be sure you are using the full YouTube URL, which you will find in the address bar of the YouTube video, not the share link. The share link looks more like https://youtu.be/1a2B3c4d whereas the full URL looks more like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1a2B3c4d

Also, be sure to remove any additional numbers or letters following the video key, like &feature=youtu.be.
